Welcome

Lomond and Clyde Community Orchestra aims to encourage the playing of music in the community. Membership is open to players of all ages and all abilities. The Orchestra meets once a week for rehearsals in St Michael's Church Hall, William Street, Helensburgh from 10.00 to 12.00 noon from autumn through to spring. We give two major concerts each year plus additional performances around Christmas time.

We run an active program of encouraging and helping players. As well as our conductor, we also welcome specialist tutors in strings, wind, brass and percussion to teach the sections of the Orchestra during some Saturday morning sessions.

The Orchestra is always looking for new members. Please contact us if you would like to come along and try out the Orchestra. Or just turn up at St. Michael's Hall on a Saturday in the autumn or spring term time before 10 am.

Orchestra Events

Autumn Term 2025 begins on Saturday 6th September

We will be be rehearsing at St Michaels Church Hall, William Street  from 10am - 12.00 noon every Saturday until our concert on Saturday 13th December 2025 in the Victoria Halls. We will also be playing at the Christmas Lights Switch On on Sunday 23rd November

We do not have a half term break. The terms fees have not vet been confirmed as we hope to reduce them from the current adults £60.00, young people under 18yrs £25.00. This need to be agreed at our AGM on Saturday 13th September

New members are welcome to come along and give us a try. Music is provided, bring your instrument and a music stand. If you are interested in playing percussion we have a variety of percussion instruments. 

 

 

rehearsals

We rehearse on Saturday mornings from September to Easter. We meet at St Michaels Church Hall, William Street, Helensburgh from 10am - 12 noon. The hall is open from 9.30am so there is time to set up. If you want to join us please come along to one of our rehearsals, bring your instrument and a music stand, we will provide the music. We have a range of  percussion instruments to play.

We perform 2 concerts a year in Spring - just before Easter and in Winter - at the end of November. 

Variety being the spice of life, we have a varied repertoire. Sometimes we play medleys from musicals and films whilst at other times we play more classical music. We often play music with a parts for beginers and more advanced players so everyone can play at the level they feel most comfortable with.
